Student Veteran Internships Enrolling Soon for Spring 2025

UMKC's new Military Veteran Entrepreneurial Internship program launches this spring with funding from a UMKC Entrepreneurship and Innovation Grant (Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation). The program will provide valuable hands-on experience for student veteran interns placed with primarily non-profit organizations. Students will be paired with an internship or may propose their own and will develop business proposals aimed at solving a specific problem or advancing the mission of the host organization.

Students can earn 3 credit hours of course credit in history, political science, or, upon approval, other majors.

Students will complete 100 hours of internship work, paid at $16/hour during the Spring 2025 semester and will attend a one hour orientation meeting in the first week of the semester as well as five additional 2.5 hour class meetings throughout the semester (approximately one per month).

Community partners interested in hosting one to three student veteran interns are encouraged to contact project PIs Rebecca Best and Viviana Grieco.
