Michelle Perez

Michelle Perez is a UMKC alumni who served as a Supplement Instructor for the Bridging the Gap project in the Spring of 2023 and is currently part of the Bridging the Gap research team. She has received her Bachelors in Political Science and is working on her Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Criminology. Michelle is an Air Force Reservist who has been able to share her experiences in real time. She has been in for three years as a Weapons Loader on the A-10s. She has brought a unique perspective by being a student and service member. Aside from her military and student career, she is also an intern at the District Attorney's Office in Olathe, KS. She is also a Child Behavioral Interventionist where she engages with foster and adopted children to work through behavioral issues that stem from past or present trauma. In her free time, she teaches swim lessons and lifeguards. She is driven by the need to serve her community and make a difference.
