Talia recently graduated from Saint Louis University with a B.S. in Chemical Biology and Pharmacology (2022), and she will be attending the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in August of 2023 to pursue a DDS degree.

Talia spent her final two years at Saint Louis University as a student research aide in the Department of Chemistry under the guidance of Dr. Piotr Mak. In the Mak Lab, she studied the mechanics of alkane hydroxylation in cytochrome P450s using absorption (UV-Vis) and vibrational (resonance Raman) spectroscopies.

Talia joined the Cox Lab as a Research Assistant in October 2022. Her current work primarily focuses on the ontogeny and developmental defects of SBSE, STN, SNOL, and SHSN mouse strains. These studies are achieved through imaging and landmarking studies. She also assists on other projects within the lab, including the Vitamin A diet-based study.

After graduation from dental school, Talia plans on pursuing a Ph.D. in an effort to relate her current work to clinical practice.
