Our recent work, titled "The dorsal fan-shaped body is a neurochemically heterogeneous sleep-regulating center in Drosophila," investigates the dFB in terms of sleep and chemical identity. In this manuscript, a novel dFB-specific tool is introduced and utilized to show that the dFB is indeed a sleep-regulating center in the Drosophila brain and that neurons of the dFB are neurochemically heterogeneous in neurotransmitter and sleep-related behavior.
