New PLOS Biology Paper: The role of the dorsal fan-shaped body in sleep regulation

dFB

We are happy to share that our most recent work, titled: "The dorsal fan-shaped body is a neurochemically heterogeneous sleep-regulating center in Drosophila," has been published in PLOS Biology. In this paper, we introduce the most dFB-specific, 23E10-based Split-GAL4 line to date, investigate the neurochemical nature of neurons, and show that the dFB does in fact play a role in sleep regulation. Additionally, we discovered multiple groups of neurons, based on the expression of acetylcholine or glutamate, and that these groups show dissimilar functions in sleep.
