Matthew holds a PhD in Economics from UMKC and is Director of CEI. He has worked on several CEI research teams that have explored pediatric health and the built environment. Matthew has presented CEI's research at academic forums in the United States, the Netherlands, and Senegal. His experience working with community-based organizations and neighborhood associations informs his and CEI's research agenda.
Matthew is an inaugural member of the Kansas City Regional Climate and Environment Council and a former research assistant for the Open Society University Network's Economic Democracy Initiative (OSUN-EDI).
