Dr. Alexis Petri
Dr. Alexis Petri is an experienced researcher, postsecondary faculty member, administrator, and identifies as a person with disabilities. Dr. Petri has participated in over thirty funded projects from federal sponsors such as the U.S. National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Department of Justice, and U.S. Department of Labor. She has served as project director and as principal investigator on research projects pertaining to college students with disabilities and youth with disabilities for fifteen years. Additionally, Dr. Petri gained knowledge of institutional policies, practices, and data as the project manager for the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Higher Learning Commission (regional accrediting body) institutional accreditation decennial review (2019). Her position as senior director of faculty support for the Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence provides additional experience and expertise into the complexity of supporting students with disabilities. Dr. Petri earned her doctorate in higher education administration with a focus on urban leadership and policy studies in education. Dr. Petri will commit a total of one calendar month as evaluator.
