Dr. Scott is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, the Institute for Data Science and Informatics, and a founding Director of the Data Science and Analytics Master’s Degree program at the University of Missouri (MU). He has participated in projects for the National Science Foundation (NSF), Department of Defense (DoD), NGA, DIA, Army, Air Force, Army ERDC, NRL, NRO, and DARPA. He is currently mentoring or leading research projects in several areas including data science, machine learning, computer vision, multi-modal analytics, high-performance computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and geospatial analytics. He served as the Program Manager (principal and architect) of the University of Missouri's 5-year Program of Study in Data Science training contract for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and other DOD/IC customers. Dr. Scott was recognized by the MU College of Engineering with the Outstanding Junior Faculty Research Award, Spring of 2021, and the Missouri Honors Award, Special Academic Appointment, Spring 2015.
