Welcome to the Terahertz Lab at UMKC! We specialize in the science and technology of THz waves, a unique region of the electromagnetic spectrum positioned between microwaves and optical frequencies. The THz band is widely recognized at the next frontier in wireless communications. It is a fascinating field at the intersection of optics and electronics, often referred to as quasi-optics. In our lab, we generate, manipulate, and harness THz waves for exciting applications in sensing, imaging, and wireless communications.
