Prof. Hichem Guerboukha
Hichem Guerboukha is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the School of Science and Engineering at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering Physics from Polytechnique Montreal in 2019 with Dr. Maksim Skorobogatiy. His doctoral thesis focused on the science and technology of the THz spectrum for sensing and imaging applications. From 2020-2023, he worked with Dr. Daniel Mittleman at Brown University, advancing research in THz communications, particularly in the areas of antennas, metasurfaces, beamforming, and physical layer security. Dr. Guerboukha has authored more than 100 scientific contributions. He has received multiple awards for his research, including the Young-Star Researcher Award from FRQNT, as well as the Best 2015 Master's Thesis and the Louis-Berlinguet Prize for Best 2019 PhD Thesis from Polytechnique Montreal. He is also an Early Career Board Member of the Journal of Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves.
