Prof. Paquette was awarded the MWRM Stan Israel Award for Advancing Diversity in the Chemical Sciences

Prof. Paquette was selected as the 2023 recipient of the Stanley C. Israel Regional Award for Advancing Diversity in the Chemical Sciences for the Midwest Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society.

This award recognizes individuals and/or institutions that have advanced diversity in the chemical sciences and significantly stimulated or fostered activities that promote inclusiveness.

Dr. Paquette has complemented her commitment to research with mentorship and service both within and outside of UMKC, which have promoted diversity and inclusiveness in the chemical sciences. As mentor (2012-present) and coordinator (2015-present) for the Kansas City Section of the American Chemical Society Project SEED Program, Dr. Paquette brought to UMKC and nearby Kansas City labs high school students from economically and socially disadvantaged populations, seeking educational and professional opportunities. Under her direction, 30 students participated in the program, of which nine were directly supervised by Dr. Paquette.
